Welcome To Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (HeLTI)

A research initiative to develop and test interventions to prevent obesity in children and promote child development

There are four separate but harmonized projects in Soweto, South Africa, Mysore, India, Shanghai, China, and virtually across Canada
. All projects are focused on developing evidence-based interventions that span from pre-conception across pregnancy and into the postnatal period with a goal of improving maternal, infant and child health. Watch the video to learn more about HeLTI.

Goal of the HeLTI Consortium:

Generate evidence that will inform international policy and decision-making for the improvement of health and the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Great News! The Bukhali HeLTI South Africa study has released a new video about the project. This study addresses health challenges faced by women in South Africa through an 18-month community health worker intervention aimed at improving maternal and child health from preconception to post-delivery.
